IDT have developed a proven range of undulator primary slits.
Our centre opening & scanning primary slits (shown right) offer exceptional performance:
- Angled water-cooled copper blades (OFHC or Glidcop) with tungsten hard edge defining
the beam.
- Thermally isolated design for maximum thermal stability and minimal drift.
- One stepper motor is used to set the slit blade gap and a second motor used to scan
the slits in the beam.
- Precision actuator resolution can be controlled to 0.1µm with 5µm repeatability in
open loop, <1µm repeatability when fitted with an encoder.
- Slit blade design optimised for specific power requirements of beamline
Our L-aperture slits are ideally suited for high-power applications, with a horizontal
and vertical travel range of ±5mm and sub-µm resolution and repeatability (shown
below). These slits are also suitable for use in a canted undulator geometry as they
can feature an additional bypass aperture.
